Wellness Programs

A lack of physical activity, excess weight, stress and tobacco use can all negatively impact one's health and well-being. Register online for one of JHU's wellness programs and start seeing healthy results today. Programs are offered to benefits eligible employees at discounted rates. View the informational flyers for more details.

Physical Fitness Programs:

  • Cardio Fusion — is offered on the Homewood campus. Cardio Fusion is an aerobic workout combining kickboxing, hi/lo floor aerobics and some boot camp drills. Be prepared to have fun burning calories and strengthening your core.
  • Muscle Toning and Conditioning — is offered at the Homewood and White Marsh locations and is a workout that focuses on strengthening and conditioning every major muscle group in the body. One should expect cardio intervals to sometimes be intermingled between strength exercises.
  • Zumba — Zumba is offered at the Homewood and SOM Campuses (Darner & Meyer Gym). Zumba is a cardio fitness class that blends the rhythm of Latin music with easy to follow dance steps.
  • On-Site Fitness Centers — Low membership rates are available at the Ralph S. O'Connor Recreation Center on the Homewood campus and the Cooley Center in East Baltimore. Contact the center to join.
  • Additional Fitness Centers — Discounts are available at these additional fitness centers throughout the greater Baltimore area. Contact the fitness centers directly for discount information.

Weight Loss Programs:

  • Weight Watchers — Losing weight and feeling healthy is hard. Change your relationship with food for good through Weight Watchers meetings or online programs.
  • Innergy — is a convenient and highly personalized approach to lasting weight loss. Work with a coach by phone, eat real food, weigh in at home, be active at your own pace and keep track of your results online. Innergy was developed by Healthways in collaboration with Johns Hopkins Medicine and is available to participants in the CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield medical plan. Members must log in though MyAccount. Select Health Assessments & Online Programs under the My Health tab at the top. Scroll to the Innergy box at the bottom of the page.

Stress Management Programs:

  • Mindfulness Meditation — is currently offered at the Homewood and White Marsh campuses. It is designed to give you the tools to calm the mind and reduce stress.
  • Yoga — is offered at Carey, Homewood, Keswick, SOM Campuses (Darner & Monument Street), CCP-Candler and White Marsh. It is an exercise and discipline designed to relax the body and the mind.
  • Seated Massage — is offered at Homewood, San Martin, Keswick, White Marsh and East Baltimore locations. Seated Massage reduces stress, relieves tension and improves circulation.
  • Calm App — is available for free to university students, faculty and staff through August 2020. Users can access meditation instruction, sleep assistance, stretching videos and relaxing music when an account is created at using your JHU email address.

Tobacco Cessation Programs:

  • Tobacco Cessation — Get the support you need to quit using tobacco. Check out several free online programs and additional resources available to you through your medical provider.
