Personal Accident Insurance
Personal Accident Insurance provides a benefit to you if an injury (on or of the job) results in the loss of the following:
- your life
- a member (i.e. foot, hand, eye)
- speech and hearing
- thumb and index finger of same hand
- quadriplegia
- paraplegia
- hemiplegia

As an eligible employee, you automatically receive Personal Accident Insurance coverage from JHU equal to $10,000.
You may choose to enroll for additional coverage. You may select any amount for yourself from $10,000 to $300,000,
in increments of $10,000. The coverage amount you select is call the "principle sum."
If you want to purchase coverage for you spouse/same-sex domestic partner and children, you can enroll for the family
plan.
Personal Accident benefit amounts are based on the type of loss suffered and expressed as a percentage of the principle sum you elect for yourself.
