Long Term Care Insurance
JHU offers you the opportunity to purchase group long term care insurance. Your spouse, parents, parents-in-law, grandparents, and grandparents-in-law may also purchase coverage. Eligibility is limited to individuals under 80.
Enrollment is guaranteed for employees who enroll for coverage within the first 90 days of employment. Coverage for other family members may be subject to medical evidence of insurability.
Premiums for this coverage are paid for by the employee with after-tax dollars through payroll deductions. Premiums for other family members are paid through direct billing.
Two basic Long Term Care plans are available:
- Three-year, inpatient benefit plan
- Five-year, inpatient benefit plan
With each plan, you choose an $100, $150, or $200 per day inpatient benefit, along with other plan options.
